DailyBot is a chat platform for humans and agents. Standup Smith is a standup.
We checked dailybot.com/pricing on 26 Oct 2026. DailyBot is the better buy if you want kudos, workflows, Discord, a CLI, and AI agents in one product.
DailyBot sells far more than check-ins: kudos, workflows, forms, Slack, Teams, Discord and Google Chat, a CLI, an agent skill pack for coding agents, and API access on Advanced. Standup Smith does none of that except the check-in. If your shortlist is "one chat platform for people and coding agents," DailyBot belongs on it. Standup Smith does not.
The fair comparison is narrower: what does a remote engineering manager pay to run a daily standup for 20 people, and what happens to a blocker after it is posted?

From dailybot.com/pricing:
| Standup Smith | DailyBot | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | 5 members, 1 standup, Slack, 30-day history. No kudos. | Starter: 1 workspace, unlimited members, standup features, free kudos. Up to 50 compiled check-in reports per month and 14 days of history. |
| Middle plan | Team: $19 a month for 20 members, AI digest, 365-day history, Slack only. | Essentials: $3 per active user per month, or $2.40 billed annually. AI summaries, 6 months of history, integrations. |
| Top plan | Business $49 (75 people, Slack and Teams, blocker follow-up) and Scale $99 (200 people, CSV export, 5 admins). | Advanced: $6.50 per active user per month, or $5 annually. API, CLI, agent skill pack, multiple workspaces, role-based access and 2FA. |
| Who is billed | A flat workspace price inside a member cap. Silence does not lower the bill, and a quiet person does not raise it. | Every member whose status is active. New members are active by default. The billing manager's seat is free. You stop paying for someone by marking them inactive. |
| Blocker follow-up | Business and Scale DM the blocker's owner every working day until it is resolved. | AI detects blockers in answers. A daily DM to the owner until resolved is not listed. |
Twenty active DailyBot Essentials users cost $60 a month, or $48 billed annually. Twenty people on Standup Smith Team cost $19. If only 8 people are marked active in DailyBot, Essentials is $24, close to our $19. The catch is the default: new members join as active, and DailyBot says so plainly in its pricing FAQ.
DailyBot Starter is generous on members and tight on history (14 days) and compiled reports (50 a month). Our Free plan is tight on members (5) and keeps 30 days of history. Different free-plan bets.
Where DailyBot is better
Breadth. Kudos, workflows, forms, Discord, Google Chat, a coding-agent CLI, and a skill pack. One vendor if you want that bundle.
AI summaries on Essentials, plus AI-generated reports on trends and team health on Advanced. Our AI digest is a standup-only summary: blockers, risks, and who is waiting on whom.
They are live and backed by Y Combinator, with a public Advanced plan for agents. We are a waitlist product with no CLI.
Unlimited members on every plan, with usage caps on Starter instead. We cap members at 5, 20, 75, and 200.
Anonymous and private responses on Advanced. We attach names. If you need anonymous HR check-ins, DailyBot Advanced is built for that. Standup Smith is not an HR survey.
Where Standup Smith is better
Price at 15 to 20 people who all answer. $19 against $45 to $60 on Essentials billed monthly.
History on the cheaper paid plan. 365 days on Team against 6 months on DailyBot Essentials.
Blocker follow-up. DailyBot's AI surfaces blockers in answers and agent reports. Its pricing page does not list a daily re-ask to the person who owns the blocker until it is resolved. That loop is our Business plan.
Holiday calendars for US, UK, UAE, and KSA on Business and Scale, with Friday and Saturday or Saturday and Sunday weekends per member. Country holiday calendars are not a line on DailyBot's pricing table.
Where the two overlap
Both send async check-ins in Slack and Teams. Both summarize answers with AI on paid plans. Both will replace a Zoom round-robin if you actually read the digest. Neither will fix a team that refuses to write.
Do not buy Standup Smith to replace DailyBot's kudos or agent workflows. Buy it as a standup whose price does not grow by $3 every time you forget to deactivate someone.
