The async standup playbook, emailed when you confirm

Twelve 3-question sets, a 3-day blocker escalation, and a short rule for when to still get on a call. It arrives by email after you confirm.

The playbook is not a 40-page PDF of agile theory. It is a short kit you can paste into Standup Smith, Geekbot, DailyBot, or a reminder app. Everyone who joins the list and confirms their email gets it. You do not have to pick a paid plan.

What is in the email

12 question sets by team type. Engineering default, incident week, on-call, platform, product-engineering pair, contractors, new hires, Gulf split-weekend, short answers, support, data, and security. Each set is exactly three questions. No fourth "fun" question. Nine of the sets are also on the daily standup questions guide, so you can read them before you join.

A short rule for keeping a live call. Three or more blockers on one deploy, two people with opposite facts, or a new hire who still has not had the 20 minutes they asked for. If none of those are true, you do not call.

A blocker tag list. Waiting on person, waiting on vendor, waiting on decision, waiting on deploy. People tag the answer. The AI digest on Team and up groups blockers by those tags. You can use the tags even if you never buy Standup Smith.

A 3-day escalation template. Day 1: DM the owner. Day 2: DM the owner again and copy the manager. Day 3: post in the standup thread that the blocker is now a named risk. On Business and Scale, the bot sends the owner DM and repeats it every working day until the blocker is resolved. The manager copy on day 2 and the thread post on day 3 stay with you. The template gives you the wording for both.

A participation log. One row per week: members not on skip, answers received, percent. Target: 80 percent. Below 80 two weeks in a row, change the questions or talk to the people who went quiet. Do not add a fourth question.

Skip-day notes for US, UK, UAE, and KSA. Which weekend each country uses, and why "yesterday / today" wording breaks on a Gulf Friday. Business and Scale load those calendars. The notes tell you what to enter by hand on Free or Team.

A sample manager read. A 12-person digest, blockers first, with the 20-second skim order marked. It is an example, not a screenshot of a real team.

What it is not

It is not a legal holiday calendar you can hand to payroll. Public-holiday dates change. On Business and Scale, we update the calendars when governments announce dates. The playbook lists the weekend pattern, not every 2027 date.

It is not a spreadsheet of your current answers. We cannot import Zoom transcripts.

It is not a coupon. The only discount is the founding offer: founding members get 30% off regular prices for as long as they stay subscribed.

How you get it

Enter your email and click the link in the confirm message. The playbook arrives in the same inbox.

30-day money-back guarantee once the product opens. No card needed to join.

If you only want the playbook and never want the bot, that is fine. Every email has a link to remove your address.

FAQ

When does it launch?

No public date yet. Founding members get the invite first, by email, before anyone else.

Can I share the playbook with other managers in the company?

Yes. Forward the email. The founding price is tied to the confirmed address, not to the playbook.

Do I get a PDF?

No. The playbook is the body of an email. You can print it from your inbox.
